Chapatti, also known as Roti, is a traditional Indian flatbread that has been a staple in South Asian cuisine for centuries. This chapatti recipe is simple to make, with just a few basic ingredients such as whole wheat flour, water, and salt. Chapatis are typically cooked on a hot griddle or tava until they puff up and develop a deliciously charred exterior. Makes 6 to 8 depending on their size

Ingredients:

  • 450g   whole wheat flour

  • pinch of salt

  • Luke warm water

Step 1:   

To make chapatis, start by mixing whole wheat flour, water, and a pinch of salt in a bowl to form a soft dough. Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes.


Step 2:

Next, divide the dough into small balls, roll them out into round shapes, and cook them on a hot griddle until they puff up and develop golden brown spots. Serve the chapatis warm with your favorite curry or accompaniment. Enjoy your homemade chapatis!.
